The rain pattered softly against the windowpane, creating a peaceful backdrop to the bustling city. Daniel leaned back in the comfortable armchair, watching the world go by. He had a few minutes before his appointment. A sense of tranquility he had rarely experienced.

The door opened, and a woman with familiar eyes entered the room. It was Karen, who used to make his life a misery. The meanest girl in their grade. He had no clue how she had become a therapist.

"Daniel, come in," Karen said, her voice warm and welcoming. "Let's begin." Daniel stood up. He felt a stirring inside him; a strange mixture of curiosity and something akin to acceptance.
